September is a big month in the South of France for yachties, with a number of important yacht shows and regattas taking place. We have already highlighted the hugely popular Cannes Boat Show, which took place in the second week of September in the festival town of Cannes, not far from our prestigious villas for sale on the Cap d’Antibes.
And now we turn our attention to the glamorous Monaco Yacht Show, which will open in Port Hercules to the backdrop of the grandiose Prince’s Palace in less than two weeks’ time. It’s easy to see why this time of year appeals to the yachting world. The weather is still glorious, hovering around 24C, the tourists are long gone and there is a feeling of new beginnings as schools and offices get going again after the long, hot summer. The Monaco Yacht Show is by far the most anticipated yachting event on the calendar for yachting enthusiasts, attracting the biggest names in the industry as well as more than 100 of the world’s largest and most stunning superyachts. The event will this year take place from September 25th
and we thoroughly recommend that our clients coming to look at properties for sale in the South of France during this week take time out to visit. Even if buying a superyacht is not on your radar, it’s a wonderful day out and a chance to see first-hand some of the most beautiful sailing and motor yachts on the planet. On display, this year for the first time ever, for example, is the S/Y Event, a stunning 60 meter superyacht that has been designed by award-winning designer Tim Heywood. But be warned: she is so beautiful you might find that after looking around boats like S/Y Event your desire to buy a villa on the Cap d’Antibes has been demoted and it is a superyacht which you now hanker after! Just take a look at some of our beautiful character properties to regain perspective. The Monaco Yacht Show, which is attended each year by more than 30,000 people, also plays host to more than 500 exhibitors who come to the event to showcase their luxury yachting products and services. The show begins on September 26th
